I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon (T0661), with a Masters Degree from Portland State University in Counseling and a specialty in Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapy.  I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon.

My approach to treatment is a collaborative, client-driven process built upon mutual trust and respect. Solution Focused and Family/Systemic Therapy are at the center of this relationship.

Solution Focused Therapy means that we work together to establish your goals for treatment and your life.  During this process we will identify strengths you, and/or your family members, already have as well as obstacles or problems that may be leaving you overwhelmed or stressed. The most important tool in treatment is the client-therapist relationship, and this is how you gain optimum results.

Family/Systemic Therapy is based on identifying the systems in your life (i.e. families, schools, work, etc), and how these systems impact you. Treatment may include entire families or couples in therapy sessions to reduce family or relationship difficulties. Family members or couples may also be seen individually to resolve behaviors, patterns, and/or beliefs which interfere with positive qualities, such as feeling happy or being confident.

I work with Couples, Individuals, Adolescents, and Children from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, resources, and cultures.

I help families, couples, and individuals address: marital and couples conflict, stress management, communication skills, anxiety, depression, adoption, children or adolescents with challenging behaviors, parenting concerns,  divorce or separation, phase of life issues, and self esteem improvement.  This is not a complete list, so please call if you have any questions.
